Purpose of the role:
Our client is looking for a self-motivated individual who can work under their own initiative and with the minimum of supervision providing 1st and 2nd line support to their ever-increasing customer base.
Responsibilities:
- Dealing with all sorts of Networking issues, routing, switching, firewalls, wireless, etc. across multi-vendor equipment
- Service calls for client problems will be allocated by the Response Desk
- Working with other departments for resolution of client problems
- Project work for installation of new equipment/solutions for customers
- You will be required to do out of hours work - before 9am and after 5.30pm and at weekends from time to time
- You will be required to be part of a 24 x 7 support rota
- Training for various vendors/equipment will be provided as needed
- Varied client base, ranging from small home office solutions to large multi-national organisations
Skills required:
- CCNA or similar is required (or a demonstrable experience)
- CCNP or similar would be beneficial (or currently working towards)
- Good knowledge and experience of Cisco networking devices (routers, switches, firewalls, wireless)
- Aruba wireless/switching experience would be beneficial.
- Knowledge of computers to operative effectively with computer hardware such as general server, cloud, midrange, network and desktop technologies; computer software includes, MS Office Suite and Outlook
