Purpose of the role:
Our client is looking for a confident and resourceful qualified Accountant to join their team.
Responsibilities:
- Challenging the processes used in the group consolidation, accounts preparation and audit process to identify and implement any improvements to efficiency and control
- Establishing and maintaining effective relationships with internal jurisdictional Financial Controllers, Tax and Company Secretarial teams as well as external Auditors
- Preparation of audit schedules and support including technical accounting papers for board and auditor consideration
- Attendance at Group audit Committee meetings and presentation of financial statements and technical papers
- Provision of technical accounting expertise to the business including the development and maintenance of group wide accounting policies
- Leading financial reporting projects such as the implementation of changes in accounting standards
Skills required:
- Audit background preferred but not essential for the right candidate
- In depth working knowledge of IFRS
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Flexibility - able to work well in a team as well as individually with the ability to work to tight deadlines
- Confidence in challenging the status quo combined with the imagination to suggest and implement practical improvements to jurisdictional and group wide processes
