Purpose of the role:
You will lead the Compliance department to support the Jersey business; Boards and operations, in compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements and provide ongoing independent 2nd line oversight of Governance, internal systems, controls, policies and standards.
Responsibilities:
- Leadership of the local compliance function to deliver effective compliance support to the Jersey regulated businesses
- Ensure team structure with capacity, appropriate knowledge, skills and experience required
- Promote and enhance the legal & ethical integrity and compliance culture in the Jersey business, ensuring the behaviour of the organisation reflects the local regulations and codes of practice and the firm’s policies & procedures
- Regular engagement with the Business Leaders in Jersey
- Direct support to the Boards on all compliance matters, including input on the formal Compliance and AML reports prepared by the relevant compliance officer(s) of the legal entities, to the Directors (quarterly Boards and ad-hoc meetings as required)
- Oversight and provision of technical guidance on compliance issues to all business areas to achieve operational efficiency
Skills required:
- Relevant compliance qualification - ICA/ACAMS/CISI (JFSC - table 4 qualification)
- ICA Diploma in AML/Compliance or other equivalent Compliance Certification
- Professional Qualification - ACA, ACCA, ICSA or similar
- Educated to Degree standard or equivalent, in related disciplines including: Law, Accounting, Auditing, or Finance
