Purpose of the role:
Providing assistance and support to the allotted business areas to operate in line with the local regulatory and legal framework, and to manage compliance, regulatory, AML, operational and other risks.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Board to identify and analyse key risks, legal, regulatory and AML/CTF/CPF/compliance obligations applicable to the business' operations, ensuring that probabilities and impacts are clear and understood
- Assist the Board in determining the approach to risk, including the determination and maintenance of a Risk Appetite Statement
- Lead and coordinate MLCO related tasks applicable to entities falling into the scope of the “Schedule 2” to the Proceeds of Crime (Jersey) Law
- Work on transversal AML/CTF/CPF/compliance topics and projects related to non “Schedule 2” businesses as and when needed
- Work closely with other Key Persons (Compliance Officers, MLCOs and MLRO)
Skills required:
- Proven track record in regulated Compliance roles within the offshore financial services industry with experience of the administration of funds, trusts and company structures
- Detailed technical knowledge of Anti Money Laundering, Countering the Financing of Terrorism and all related financial crime legislation, codes and regulatory guidance as well as industry best practice is essential
- Detailed technical knowledge of financial services legislation, codes and regulatory guidance is essential
- A good understanding of the operational process and business practices of a financial services business
