Purpose of the role:
Working as part of a Governance Services team, you will assist and support the development and promotion of a client focused compliance strategy and framework (including developing tools and policy, procedures and processes) that sits within the compliance framework.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with regulatory obligations whilst taking a pragmatic and commercial approach to risk-based challenges and implement practical solutions consistent with the agreed Group strategy and risk appetite
- Support the maintenance and implementation of a client compliance framework consistent with applicable regulation and client risk appetite
- Ensure upstream risks, where identified, are escalated in a timely manner where compliance with legislation or regulation is at risk
- Assist in the development and delivery of client Compliance Frameworks
- Develop networks and relationships with internal and external compliance professionals
- Assist in ensuring policies, procedures and business practices are robust and comply with the relevant legislation, orders and codes of practice including AML/CFT
- Receive internal suspicious activity reports relating to the Clients you are responsible as Key Person for, investigate and determine need for external disclosure of suspicious transaction reports
- Collaborate effectively with the MLRO and any other relevant MLROs
- Monitor enactments in Jersey relating to Money Laundering, Financial Crimes, Sanctions and Terrorist
- Support Boards in the creation and maintenance of a comprehensive anti-money laundering framework
Skills required:
- Relevant compliance qualifications
- Relevant finance industry experience specifically in funds
- Previous Key Person experience an advantage
- Good working knowledge of the AML Legislation and the AML/CFT Handbook
- Good working knowledge of the Financial Services (Jersey) Law 1998 and associated Orders and Codes of Practice for Funds and Fund Services Business
- Good working knowledge and understanding of the local finance industry and regulatory requirements
