Purpose of the role:
To be responsible for all aspects of the financial reporting of work assigned to Accounting team and to take responsibility for the management and technical support of a team of accounts with the support of the existing management team.
Responsibilities:
- Preparing annual financial statements and, where required, management accounts from the accounting records of the client entities as maintained in accordance with relevant accounting standards
- Posting on final bookkeeping entries required to produce financial statements and perform year end ledger close-down procedures
- Assisting with the bookkeeping of more complex client structures as required
- Providing additional bookkeeping and administrative assistance to accounting team and administration staff as may from time to time be requested
- Reviewing accounts preparation working papers and financial statements as a quality control function
Skills required:
- ACA/CA/ACCA qualification or equivalent
- Ideally 4/5 years’ experience post qualification
- Proven working experience as Accounting Manager, or Finance Manager
- Experience in audit or accounting practice would be beneficial
- Exposure to private and corporate clients including vehicles holding investments in real estate, limited partnerships, commodities, and complex financial products
- Experience dealing with local Jersey taxation, as well as UK tax advisors including VAT processing and returns
