Purpose of the role:
The Legal Counsel will be a core member of the in-house legal team working to provide legal advice to the Board and senior management and to work closely with client-facing staff and external advisers in relation to legal matters arising in the day-to-day administration of complex high value fiduciary structures.
Responsibilities:
- Provide legal advice in relation to trusts, companies and other offshore structures, risk management in relation to the creation and administration of offshore entities, and the drafting and management of legal and technical documentation
- Support and assist legal, tax and regulatory compliance, including FATCA and CRS, Jersey economic substance, UK and international trust and company registers, and tax compliance
Skilled Required:
- Previous experience held in a law firm or trust business
- Knowledge of trust and company law and (ideally) UK tax law, including a sound knowledge of fiduciary structures and functions
