About the role:
The purpose of the Human Resources Manager is to contribute to the effective delivery of a pro-active, positive, efficient, and supportive Human Resources Function across Jersey and Guernsey. This is a broad-ranging senior HR role covering business-partnering, employee relations, process and policy matters, data, permanent and operational risk control, and reporting.
Responsibilities:
- Provide HR support and advice to all line managers and employees and assist in the maintenance of good employee relations whilst monitoring the ‘social’ climate.
- Deal effectively with any issues of performance, capability, absence, disciplinary and grievance in accordance with best practice and internal and Group procedures.
- Track employee absence levels using the Bradford Factor methodology and work with line managers to manage sickness absence levels.
- Be the HR point of contact for the management of all parental leave ensuring it is within policy and meets local legislation.
- Conduct mid-probation check-ins with both new employees and well as their line manager, ensuring a good employee experience and supporting managers with any concerns.
- Ensure the completion of the Group Social Campaign.
- Manage the Group talent program for the local population.
Skills, knowledge & expertise:
- Strong technical knowledge of a wide scope of HR practices.
- Good understanding - local legislation, regulatory regimes relating to Jersey and Guernsey.
- 5-7 years’ experience in a HR role.
- Minimum CPP-qualified.
