Purpose of the role:
You will work closely with the Global Operations Director on developing and delivering a robust set of controls as part of the first line of defence to ensure that client entity records remain up to date and regular monitoring is completed.
Responsibilities:
- Develop a strategy to build an effective first line of defence model using technology and expertise
- Set up a Business Assurance team to support the completion of client entity periodic reviews alongside jurisdictional team members who also perform reviews, fill data gaps and support the business in keeping records up to date
- Take responsibility for the client entity periodic review processes across the jurisdictions working closely with the MDs and local teams
- Develop and enhance the client entity periodic review framework identifying areas for improvement, digitalisation and automation
- Be the business owner of policies and procedures relating to client entity periodic reviews and monitoring, and work closely with the head of Risk & Controls to ensure they remain up to date at all times
- Manage the technology and reporting framework for client entity periodic reviews and monitoring, and build and maintain an effective solution for the teams
Skills required:
- You will have gained a suitable accounting, compliance or governance qualification
- Proven experience within a relevant role at a trust company business, Bank, Auditor (accounting firm) or in an Operational Risk role or equivalent
- You will have a good understanding of regulatory obligations across different jurisdictions
- You will be able to demonstrate a flexible and pro-active approach to problem solving, both in an individual capacity and as part of a team, with an ability to clearly articulate procedures and opportunities to solve business problems
- A passion for technology solutions and a good understanding of data structures and integrity. Knowledge of Viewpoint would be beneficial
