Purpose of the role:
The role of the Group Head of Risk is to manage the Risk Office for the Group. This includes working with the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Chief Financial Officer (CFO) in relation to the management of the Group level risk framework and monitoring of subsidiary risk processes.
Responsibilities:
- Developing and implementing a Risk Management Framework at Group level, compassing: risk appetite; business risk assessment; risk register; controls matrix; risk related committees; risk reporting
- Developing and implementing underlying policies and procedures to ensure application of risk management in day-to-day operations
- Ensuring appropriate skills and training in relation to risk management
- Overseeing the application of the Group Risk Management Framework at operating entity level, including the tailoring of Group Policies as required by local business or regulatory requirements
- Formal monthly risk reporting to ExCo and quarterly risk reporting to Group Board/Audit and Risk Committee
- Responsibility for ensuring appropriate action is taken in relation to ad hoc risk events as they arise across the group
Skills required:
- Experience in delivering training on effective risk management
- Minimum of 10 years working in risk management/compliance
- Educated to degree level
- Experience in managing risk in a similar organisation/industry
- Experience in managing risk beyond regulatory/compliance risk; importantly in managing tax risk, fiduciary risk and data risk
