Purpose of the role:
Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will manage the team to ensure the timely and accurate production of the monthly management accounts, group reporting package and other reports.
Responsibilities:
- Monthly review of bank and other key balance sheet reconciliations
- Monthly review of accruals and prepayments, including making suitable judgements to ensure the adequacy and appropriateness of the various accruals
- Monthly review of the Nominal Ledgers to ensure that costs are matched appropriately to the period to which they relate, and the review of the supporting spreadsheets
- Monthly review and analysis of deferred income against budget, ensuring that the revenue is recognised in the correct period
- Processing of other month end journals on the company’s Navision accounting system, including GRNI, Inter-Company trading, Work in Progress and Stock Provisions
- Management of the Team ensuring that issues around stock management are resolved in a timely fashion
- Oversight of the Sales Order process, ensuring that the Company’s billing is timely and accurate
- Preparation of additional management information, including reconciliations of actual revenues against budget
Skills required:
- A qualified accountant with at least 2 years PQE, although consideration will be given to exceptional non-qualified candidates who can demonstrate a solid track record in a similar role
- Ideally, experience in a commercial, rather than financial services, business role
- Advanced MS Excel skills and reasonable proficiency in other MS Office applications
- Experience of using ERP Systems (ideally MS Navision)
- A highly motivated individual who is happy to work on their own initiative in order to produce accurate information within tight deadlines
- Experience of local (Jersey and Guernsey) Payroll would be an advantage
- Experience of managing a small team would also be advantageous
