Purpose of the role:
You will work collaboratively with the Senior Leadership team, Partners and Business Services Directors to monitor and improve business performance and support and implement initiatives to achieve its financial and wider strategic objectives.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop the Legal and Business Services Finance team (c33 staff)
- Provide accurate, timely and comprehensive reporting to the management team, Partners and third parties to assist them in monitoring and improving business performance and developing future strategy
- Work closely with the Chief Financial Officer, Senior Leadership Team, Partners and Business Services Directors to understand, monitor and consistently improve financial performance across the firm
- Develop performance measures and KPIs that support the business’s objectives and long term strategic goals
- Influence behaviour both within finance and the wider business for continuous improvement, particularly in areas such as financial management, profitability, working capital management and pricing
- Manage the continual review and improvement of the Legal business operational performance, identify and highlight the areas of performance that require attention and suggest appropriate solutions through the provision and analysis of data
- Analyse and present data to challenge and influence behaviour to drive business performance
Skills required:
- Qualified Accountant with a relevant qualification e.g. ACCA, CIMA, ICAEW
- At least 5 years' experience within a law firm or professional services setting in a senior role
- Strong people management skills with at least 5 years' team management experience
- Proven experience of developing and delivering clear, accurate and relevant reports to aid decision making
- Experience of management of finance planning processes including annual budgeting, cash flow forecasting and multi-year planning
