Purpose of the role:
You will be responsible for the provision of administrative support for a broad range of litigation matters.
Responsibilities:
- Keeping folders up to date with pleadings and client documentation
- Proofreading/amending documentation
- Drafting simple letters for serving and filing documents and preparing documentation as required
- Carry out conflict checks
- Preparing bundles and filling them with court
- Billing of private criminal cases
- Allocate an Advocate or Legal Adviser to attend Police Headquarters
- Liaise with States of Jersey Police and Customs and Immigration to request, Download and reviewing disclosure
- Updating files and client
- Liaise with the Probation Service to follow up on probation/psychological/psychiatric reports
Skills required:
- Graduate preferred
- Excellent academics
- Have excellent organisational, analytical and IT skills, specifically excellent knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Adobe Professional or Pdf Docs
- Be able to work under pressure with minimal supervision and to tight deadlines
- Strong verbal and written skills
