About the role:
The purpose of this role is to provide strategic leadership, operational oversight, and commercial direction for the fund administration function. As a Director, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient delivery of high-quality fund administration services, leading a team of professionals, building strong client relationships, driving regulatory compliance, and contributing to the growth and profitability of the business. This role is pivotal in shaping the operational strategy, ensuring client satisfaction, and maintaining the firm’s market reputation.
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead and oversee the fund administration department, ensuring delivery of accurate and timely services across a portfolio of complex fund structures across the alternatives sector.
- Act as a senior point of contact for key client relationships, managing high-value accounts and ensuring consistent service excellence in line with the Client Service model.
- Develop and implement departmental strategy in alignment with broader business goals, including resource planning, workflow management, and service innovation.
- Guide the preparation and approval of fund administration deliverables, including (but not limited to) financial reporting, administration, governance, regulatory, tax and legal matters.
- Play a leading role in new business proposals, client pitches, and onboarding of complex structures.
- Monitor team performance, productivity, and professional development; provide coaching, feedback, and succession planning.
- Work cross-functionally with accounting, legal, compliance, and operations teams to ensure integrated service delivery.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Must hold Table 4 professional qualification (e.g., STEP, TEP, ICSA, ACCA, LLB).
- Minimum 10–12 years’ experience in fund administration or financial services, with at least 5 in a senior management or leadership capacity.
- Deep knowledge of fund structures and fund administration practices, particularly in alternative asset classes.
- Previous or current approval by a financial services regulator in a Prescribed Role.
- Demonstrated experience in managing large teams, overseeing client portfolios, and leading operational strategy.
- Proven track record of building and sustaining senior client relationships and supporting business growth.
- Familiarity with fund administration systems (e.g., Investran, eFront, Allvue) and workflow tools.
