Purpose of the role:
You will assist (and Deputise for) the CO and MLCO as required. Supporting the allotted business areas to operate in line with the local regulatory and legal framework, and to manage compliance, regulatory, AML, operational and other risks.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Board to identify and analyse key risks, legal, regulatory and AML obligations applicable to the business operations, ensuring that probabilities and impacts are clear and understood. Assist the Board in determining the approach to risk, including the determination and maintenance of a Risk Appetite Statement
- Provide input into the design and oversight of compliance monitoring/testing plans, designed to test the effectiveness of controls on an ongoing basis. Review findings from testing, consider impacts and provide input into actions to address
- Maintain an awareness of developments in the financial services regulatory and legal environment, ensuring the business is positioned to respond and adapt to legal and regulatory changes
- Assist with maintaining control documents, tailored to manage risk and ensure legal and regulatory obligations are met. Draft and Review Policies and Procedures as required
Skills required:
- Experience working in Compliance or Risk roles within the offshore financial services industry with experience in the administration of funds, trusts and company structures
- A good basic knowledge of Anti Money Laundering, Countering the Financing of Terrorism and all related financial crime legislation, codes and regulatory guidance as well as industry best practice is essential
- A good basic knowledge of financial services legislation, codes and regulatory guidance is essential
- A good understanding of the operational process and business practices of a financial services business
- Ability to multitask; dealing with a wide range of issues at one time
