Compliance Manager - MLRO - Jersey

To manage a robust, risk-based AML/CFT/CPF and compliance framework, exercising sound judgement in financial crime matters. In doing so you directly contribute to our purpose; to deliver thoughtful, personal and high-quality service to every client.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own and discharge MLRO responsibilities, including SAR decision-making and external reporting
  • Ensure operational adoption of best practice AML/CFT/CPF and compliance controls through monitoring, oversight and remediation.
  • Champion a strong compliance culture across the business
  • Act as appointed MLRO with full responsibility for the receipt, assessment, and external reporting of Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs)
  • Maintain and oversee the SAR framework, including reporting, documentation and governance
  • Input into the development, review and enhancement of policies, procedures and controls
  • Oversee the delivery of a risk-based Compliance Monitoring Programme
  • Identify control deficiencies, agree remedial actions and track to closure, escalating overdue or material issues
  • Support regulatory submissions, notifications and ongoing engagement as appropriate to the matter
  • Provide technical AML/CFT/CPF advice to colleagues and senior stakeholders
  • Support gap analysis, remediation programmes and compliance projects

Qualifications and Skills required:

  • Relevant professional qualification in compliance / financial crime, such as ICA Diploma or equivalent; or,
  • Qualification consistent with Table 4 status or ability to satisfy the relevant competency expectations for the role
  • Minimum of 5 – 7 years of experience in financial services compliance preferably in Jersey
  • Experience of working with AML/CFT/CPF legislation and the JFSC AML Handbook
  • Experience of working within a Trust Company business and / or Fund Services business
  • Experience of managing suspicious activity reports (SARs) and financial crime reporting
  • Previous MLRO experience, Deputy MLRO experience, or demonstrable readiness to step into an MLRO appointment
