Purpose of the role:
Reporting directly into the Head of Accounting in the Channel Islands, you will manage a small team of Senior Accountants and a Bookkeeper to service a variety of different client accounting needs across the different administration service lines in the Channel Islands.
Responsibilities:
- Implementing and monitoring quality control systems in relation to the outsourced accounting provider
- Reviewing Financial statements, management accounts and bookkeeping across a variety of different client types
- Line management of a small team in Jersey
- Meeting regularly with the in-house teams to ensure adherence to contractual obligations and client specific KPIs
- Management and overall control over the accounting services provided to a bank of clients across the different service lines
- Continual focus on the development of the internal accounting software system and working closely with software consultants
- Attending client meetings to provide technical accounting support
- Key involvement in projects and team decisions at senior level
- Assist with the creation and maintenance of client specific accounting procedures and templates
Skills required:
- Recognised accounting qualification (ACCA, ACA, CIMA, ICAS or other recognised qualification) and some demonstrated post qualification experience
- Excellent knowledge of UK GAAP, IFRS, financial reporting requirements and audit approaches
- Direct experience in preparing financial statements in accordance with FRS 102 and IFRS
- Ability to prepare client management information to client requirements
- Have a detailed knowledge of the local finance industry, legislation and regulatory requirements
- Knowledge of the financial reporting requirements for corporate, real estate and private wealth clients
