Purpose of the role:
You will assist with the supervision, management and development of a team of part-qualified and qualified Accountants, delivering a comprehensive first-class accounting service to a portfolio of complex structures whilst also maintaining and enhancing client relationships on your own portfolio.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise more junior members of staff
- Assist with the management of the workflow of junior team members
- Delegate tasks to more junior members of staff
- Review all outgoing correspondence by direct reporting junior team members
- Plan and prioritise own and team workflow
- Deal with matters in a timely manner
- Manage the monthly/quarterly management accounts process
- Review of Accounts and preparation of complex set of accounts
- Assist with the creation and maintenance of client-specific accounting procedures
- Liaise with external contacts to obtain and provide required information
- Attend client meetings in respect of accounting matters as required
Skills required:
- Recognised accounting qualification
- A minimum of 2 years’ post qualification experience in a financial services environment
- Experience of developing and coaching others
- Sound knowledge and understanding, appropriate to level, of current industry and accounting legislation, regulation and working practices
- Sound knowledge, appropriate to level, of IFRS and UK GAAP and a basic understanding of other appropriate accounting standards
