Purpose of the role:
To join the Group Financial Accounting team that is primarily responsible for the consolidated monthly management results as well as the preparation of the Group interim and year-end financial statements ensuring adherence to International Financial Reporting Standards.
Responsibilities:
- Play a key part in the preparation of both the interim and annual financial statements, ensuring compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards
- Involvement in both the interim review and year-end audit of the consolidated Group, being a key contact for auditors and managing the departments audit deliverables
- Responsible for the preparation of the quarterly compliance reporting on the Group’s loan facility
- Develop an understanding of new International Financial Reporting Standards, assessing their impact on the Group results and implementing any required changes
- Responsible for liaising with both internal and external Tax providers with regards to Company Income Tax returns, ensuring that filing deadlines are met
- Provide support to more junior members of the department on the preparation of financial statements and complex accounting
Skills required:
- Hold a professional accountancy qualification with ideally 1-2 years’ post qualification experience
- Experience in both UK GAAP and IFRS, understanding the difference between the two and the adjustments that would need to be passed to ensure results reported under UK GAAP are IFRS compliant
- Experience in performing complex consolidations
- Experience in accounting for business combinations
- Experience in the preparation of financial statements
- Experience in external audit
